How To Find the Hypotenuse of a Right Triangle? | TIRLA ACADEMY

To find the Hypotenuse of a Right Triangle we use Pythagoras's theorem H² = P² + B² where H=Hypotenuse, P=Perpendicular, and B=Base of right triangle.

Let's take an example:

Q- A right triangle whose base is 5cm and perpendicular is 6cm long. Find its Hypotenuse.
Solve:
Pythagoras theorem:
H² = P² + B²
H² = 6² + 5²
H² = 36 + 25
H² = 61
H = √61 cm.
